The UK Youth Parliament will be returning to the House of Commons this Friday, November 4th 2011, for another debating session after last year’s highly successful visit.
Last year UKYP Members from across the UK made history by being the first group other than MPs to debate inside the historic chamber.
Over 65,000 young people cast their votes to determine the five issues to be debated. The final five are:
- Making public transport cheaper, better and accessible for all
- No to tuition fees, yes to graduate tax
- Zero tolerance towards bullying in schools
- Ending child poverty
- A Greener future for Britain
You can catch all the action live on the BBC Parliament Channel between 11am and 3pm. If you’re in Star House during that time we’ll also be screening it on the Ground Floor.
Don’t forget, the deadline for the next round of UKYP nominations is Tuesday 8th November – so get your votes in to Star House ASAP!
