An exciting opportunity to join the Yorkshire Ambulance NHS Trust to join the busy Patient Transportation Service. Working in your local area you will be transporting patients between their home address and hospital or other treatment care centres/care facilities in a saloon car. This will be done in a professional and caring manner observing patient confidentiality at all times. You will maintain contact with the communications centre and complete patient journey records, excellent customer service is required at all times with internal and external customers.

Requirements: Must have a full Driving Licence with the ability to drive safely and adhere to road traffic rules. Clean tidy and professional appearance. Ability to work as part of a team and also be able to deal with a wide range of people. Excellent communication skills. Committed to undertaking an Apprenticeship in Customer Service. Due to the nature of the job must be physically able to bend, twist, pull and push due to assisting and transporting patients/ fitting car seats etc – will be required to complete an occupational health assessment as part of the application. Will be subject to an enhanced CRB check prior to appointment. As part of the recruitment process you will be expected to undertake a literacy and numeracy assessment, a driving assessment together with an interview as part of the selection process.

Training: Full In house induction by the Yorkshire Ambulance Trust. Apprenticeship in Customer Services Level 2 (through YH Training Services Ltd). Excellent prospects for progression with the Yorkshire Ambulance NHS Trust, this is an ideal first step on the career ladder within the Ambulance Service. The apprenticeship lasts for 12 months and upon completion of this there will be the opportunity to secure a permanent position within the trust.

Hours: Approximately 37.5 hours/week including 7.5 hours for personal development/training.

Pay: £100/week plus travel costs to get to and from the workplace.
