A project which offers young people the opportunity to become involved in sporting activities with Sheffield United Football Club has been launched in Sharrow.
The SUFC KICKZ Project inspires and empowers young people by giving them access to a range of constructive activities which link to the Every Child Matters framework set out by the government.
The project, which also gives young people the chance to volunteer and gain qualifications, is run in conjunction with Sharrow Safer Neighbourhoods Team, Sheffield Futures, Sheffield City Council and other partners across the city.

At the recent launch event, young people showed off their skills in football training matches and street dance performances.
By providing opportunities to young people, KICKZ aims to highlight the issues surrounding knife crime and other aspects of criminal and anti-social behaviour.
Activities include football leagues, tournaments and coaching sessions. Educational sessions are also offered to young people about issues such as healthy lifestyles and the dangers of drug use and carrying weapons.
