We all know that growing your own food is good for the enviroment, good for your wallet and helps to educate people about where food comes from. Now keen growers in Lowedges have their own allotment space so they can grow tasty veggies and fruit all year round.
The Lowedges Growing Project, based at Lowedges Fire Station in a secure area, brings together young people and adults of all ages so they can plant and grow fruit and vegatbles to eat.
The project is a partnership between Lowedges Forum, the Fire Service, the Police and Heeley City Farm and the ‘growing group’ will be holding an open day on Wednesday 21st April 2010, so why not pop along. The big question is, will they be giving out free potatoes?
